Etsy Store

While I was pregnant with Anna
I decided to start an Etsy store
to see if I could sell anything.

I posted a picture of a growth chart ruler
I had made for Sara
and priced it fairly high
just to see what would happen.

** Fast forward six months **

I completely forgot about my Etsy store
and ruler posting when I suddenly received an email
congratulating me on my first sale.
Uh... WHAT?!

I quickly viewed the ruler posting
to see what this customer had purchased.
Then I scrambled to find the DIY website
I had used to make the ruler in the first place.

I couldn't find the original website
but I found plenty of information online
to help me make another ruler.

Luckily, I gave myself two weeks to ship
in the posting.

Matt helped me sand and stain the ruler
and I did all my tracing and wood burning.

I constructed a box with help from a box cutter
I had saved from my high school job
working in a grocery store.
(No idea why I had saved it all these years.)

Hopefully my first customer is satisfied!

Maternity Leave

I return to work in two weeks
and I am not ready.

My leave has gone by way too quickly.
I'm soaking up every moment I can
at home with my girls.

Trips to the park.

Sara on top.  Anna on bottom.

***Taggie love***
They are sisters!

Sara stays cool in the heat
during a water balloon fight
against the neighbors.

Selfie Sunday

Anna & Mommy like to take selfies
during mommy's maternity leave.

Anna continues to change so much
every single day.

I love her facial expressions.
Her smiles and coos make me melt.

Anna lets me know when she's had enough.

Grandfather Mountain

We tackled our first 2 hour road trip
as a family of four.

We packed up the car and drove the girls
to Grandfather Mountain.

On the way,
we had a few potty breaks for Sara.

Including one emergency
"My tummy hurts - I gotta poop"
stop at a busy intersection.

Anna slept and aside from the one blowout
was her typical - easy baby - self.

I nursed Anna
once we arrived to the top of the mountain
while Matt & Sara explored.

My view while nursing was amazing.

Anna decided she was still hungry at the top.
At least it was National Breastfeeding Week.
I didn't feel as bad nursing without a cover.

On the way down,
there was a small animal exhibit
with bears, an eagle, otters, and cougars.

We stopped into the fudge shop for a treat
and piled back into the car to head home.

On the way home,
we had two sleeping girls.

Success!

Sisters Update - Anna Two Months

Anna is 2 months old!
Sara is 29 months old.

They have become so close.

Anna lights up
when she hears or sees Sara.

Anna is cooing
smiling
sleeping 5-7 hour stretches overnight
nursing every 3 hours

She loves being outside
taking baths
smiling at her sister
nursing
her blanket
the paci when she's fussy
and stretching on her playmat.

We transitioned Anna from sleeping
in our room to her crib
and she's done excellent.

We swaddle her and play her womb bear.

She also took her first "practice" bottle.
She did great!
Now mommy feels better about leaving
for a few hours.

Anna recently found her hands and feet.
She stares at her hands while she moves them.
She even reached for and grabbed
a tag on her taggie blanket!

Sara vocabulary is amazing.
She comprehends so much
and surprises us daily.

She is enjoying room 5 at school.
Her friend Dallas is still her favorite.
She also finds time for her friend
(and big brother) Mason and Miss Kandi.

She can't keep her hands of her sister.
She loves to give kisses and hugs.
When she sees her she says,
"Oh my goodness!"

Hannan Visit

The Hannan family
drove out to NC
to spend a week with us!

Sara had a blast
playing with Mason
and being spoiled by
her auntie and uncle!

Their visit was over the 4th of July
so we went to our neighborhood party.

They took Sara to Zootastic.

Mason & Sara had fun at the park
and in the kiddie pool.

Thank you for visiting!
Come back again soon!

Anna's Baptism

Anna Rose was baptized on July 5th.

It was a great day spent
with Anna and Sara's Godparents
Auntie Katie & Uncle Brent.

Anna slept during the entire church service.

When Pastor Punt poured
holy water on her head
all she did was grunt.

Sara got to help Pastor Punt too.

She played in the holy water
during the entire ceremony
and had the best seat
in the house.

Anna was able to wear the same gown
Sara wore during her baptism.
The gown was made by Nana
from her wedding gown.

God bless you, Anna Rose!
