I thought it would be fun to re-take
the quiz from
THIS post...
My 15 week answers are in yellow while 36 week answers are in red.
How far along? 15 weeks 36 weeks
How big is the baby? The baby is 4" long (approx. the size of an avocado). 19-22" long (approx. the size of a watermelon).
Have you heard the heartbeat? Yes! At the doctor's appointments and also at home with a Sonoline B fetal heartbeat monitor. It's so nice being able to hear the heartbeat before we can feel the baby kick. It's also very reassuring that everything is A-OK in there! Yes, many times. The doctor checks the heartbeat at each bi-weekly (soon to be weekly) appointment.
What was the first thing you bought for your baby? I've purchased a couple of outfits sized newborn and 3-6 months. I'm not seeing a lot of gender neutral clothing options so when I spot an outfit that I can picture a boy or girl wearing, I snatch it up quick! This was still the first thing I bought for baby. At this point, I think we are done buying for baby for a little while (except for diapers).
Total weight gain/loss? Total loss so far is about 7 lbs. This should move in the other direction quickly now that my appetite is back. I had thought about deleting this question all together. I'm up right around 25 lbs. I guess I gained that 7 lbs back and then some.
Maternity clothes? I'm slowly getting to the point where my everyday clothes aren't fitting the same, but my maternity clothes are still too big. I've always worn baggy jeans and shirts so hopefully I'll be able to avoid maternity clothes for a few more weeks. I bought some maternity jeans and tops a few weeks ago so I'm prepared when the time comes. I wear maternity clothes if I leave the house. I wear baggy shirts and PJ pants if I don't leave the house. A couple of my maternity shirts no longer cover my belly.
Stretch marks? I've always had stretch marks though I have no new ones to report. No - which is probably the biggest shocker of this entire pregnancy.
How’s the sleep? Pretty good. The pregnancy dreams are very strange - though I haven't dreamt about the baby or of being pregnant yet. They are mostly random. I need to keep a dream journal. Not good. I had no idea how difficult it would be to simply roll from one side to the other. I guess I've always had decent ab muscles. I miss being able to use them.
Best moment this week? This week, I've discovered the importance of an occasional coffee drink and the "relief" it can provide (and I'm not talking about staying awake). That's all I've got to say about that. My doctor telling me I was far enough along that if labor started now they would not try to stop it. I asked her to repeat it a little louder so baby could hear it.
Movement? Oh, I wish! It is still much too early. TONS! Baby is very busy in there. Constantly on the move - just like daddy (he can't sit still either).
Type of delivery you’re planning on? Quick and pain free? Is that an option? I'd love an early arrival but I'm mentally preparing myself for baby arriving fashionably late.
Biggest change in your body besides belly? TIRED all of the time. Getting winded so easily. I need a few seconds to recover when I go from sitting to standing.
Food cravings? Ice cream. Pickles (with mayo). Taco Bell. Gas station icees. Taco Bell and ice cream.
Gender? Our ultrasound will be around the second week of November but we are NOT finding out the gender. We still don't know the gender but I have this feeling the baby will be a boy. Mother's intuition?
What are you missing? Alcohol, hot tubs, energy. My body.
What are you looking forward to? Feeling the baby movements! Holding my baby in my arms.
Pregnancy isn't as glamorous
as it used to be.
That being said...
I feel SO incredibly blessed
to be able to carry
our healthy baby to full term.
We can't wait to meet him/her!
