Fun with Nana

Nana came to visit
while Daddy was in MN.

It was great visit for the girls
and SO much help for mama!

Nana and mama went to Sara's school
for a Thanksgiving feast.

Anna worked hard at crawling.
She's almost got it!

Sara had fun with playdough.

So silly...

We spent Thanksgiving eve
with my Juicebox family.

Sara had fun on the rings
and tossing the medicine balls.

A few fun trips to the park.

Dad returned from WI
and we took a trip to Biltmore
to see the Xmas trees and lights.

Anna saw about 10 minutes of the mansion
before dozing off to la-la land.

We ended our Asheville trip at BWW.

Thank you, Nana, for all your help
and a very wonderful visit!

OBX - For A Day

I made an impulsive decision
to pack up both girls
and drive them six hours
to the Outer Banks!

We drove out Friday night
and returned on Saturday.

I quickly realized a solo road trip
with a 2 year old and 12 week old
was not a good idea.

We were able to spend time with our friends
and we got a good 10 minutes of beach time.

It's not the trip I had envisioned
but it was an overall success.

It was Sara's first time
sleeping with mommy.
She was too excited to actually sleep
and didn't doze off until after 2am.

Anna slept great in her pack n play.

We stayed at my friend Melissa's house.
She is a friend from high school
that lives in the Outer Banks.

Sara loved playing with Broderick and Gavin.

It was a very windy day at the beach.
We spent about 10 minutes in the sand
because neither girl had on sunscreen.
It was also very humid.

Anna was all smiles
as she took in her first glimpse
of the BIG ocean.

We ate some lunch and packed up the car
to return home.

Sara enjoyed watching the moving Up on the iPad.

I had the windows rolled down for white noise.
Both girls were able to nap that way.

It was great to get home in one piece.

I felt bad Sara did not get to play on the beach.
I owe her one proper beach trip.

At least I know Anna will be a beach lover too
once she's a little bigger.

Myrtle Beach Trip

The Leskes wanted to visit Myrtle Beach,
so that's where we went!

I'm not one to turn down a trip
to the ocean.
Unfortunately, I had to work while there
to save time off work for maternity leave.

Nevertheless, we had a great time.

Sara loves the big ocean
and was the most excited
to see the ocean view
from our condo.

Sara enjoyed having
mommy & daddy
in her room.

Every morning,
she jumped into our bed to play.

We took a drive to Barefoot Landing
to do a little shopping

Later,
while mommy worked and Sara napped,
Daddy went para-sailing with Allison.

Daddy described para-sailing
as very relaxing.

Mommy woke Sara up from her nap
so we could enjoy some beach time.

Mommy misses laying on her tummy
so she dug a hole in the sand for the belly.

On our last day,
Mommy and Sara went to the pool
to eat our breakfast.

Mommy packed a bag
so we could go straight from
breakfast to swimming
while Daddy stayed back
to pack up the condo.

Vacation wore Sara out!

We left to drive home during her nap time
and Sara was out in a matter of minutes.
