Nana and Papa Time

Sara had a great time

with her Nana and Papa.

They spoiled her rotten

and she loved every minute!

The girls had a night out

while the guys went shooting.

We found a tiara and wand

at Hobby Lobby

and had dinner
at Noodles & Company.

Sara had a little mishap with her milk.

She squeezed her carton

and took a little milk shower.

There are only mental pictures of that one!

We took a road trip to the foothills
for some Sims Country BBQ
and bluegrass music.

Sara loved the cornbread and dancing.

Sara took Nana and Papa

to Lazy 5 Ranch.

Nana and Papa worked really hard

while they were here.

They painted Sara's new "big girl" room

and hung a new ceiling fan!

They read many books

and took many walks.

They even surprised Sara with a new bike

for her birthday!

She is going to love it

once she finds her balance.

Luckily,

Nana and Papa are returning soon

to meet baby sissy.

That made the "good-bye" a little less difficult.

Sara is Two

 

Sara is TWO!

Or in Sara's words,

"I'm going to be two!"

She came down the stairs

to a room full of balloons

(which has become a tradition).

She opened a couple presents

and had some Dr. Seuss inspired pancakes.

Daddy and Mommy took off work

and we went with Nana and Papa

to the Discovery Place.

Sara was in awe over the "big houses"

(Sky scrapers and large buildings.)

I think she was a tad overwhelmed

as she said, "too many houses"!

Sara loved the indoor rain forest.

She also played with blocks

until we found the lower level

had more toddler-friendly activities.

They had an underwater sea life area

and a whole room for little ones Sara's age.

 She even got to touch a lizard!

After the Discovery Place,

we went to Rock Bottom Brewery for lunch.

Sara was served a special dessert

with a candle in it.

Sara returned home for a nap

and awoke to more presents.

It was an extra special day

for an extra special girl!

Toddler Bed Quilt

At my first quilting attempt,

My measurements were WAY off

and I ended up with a quilt top

to fit a king sized bed.

I still plan to finish that quilt,

but I decided to use the left over squares

and make an actual toddler bed sized quilt.

For this second attempt,

my measurements were much more spot-on.

I found a pattern I liked

with the left over squares.

I sewed them all together

to create my quilt top.

I put my quilt top over my mattress pad (batting)

and the quilt backing,

then pinned all three layers together.

For my first attempt,

I sewed two straight lines

parallel to the lines on my quilt top.

I think it came together quite nicely.

I added a pillow case

(draped over the foot of the bed).
