14 Months

Sara is BUSY.

She does not stay still for long
and is walking more than crawling.

She gives hugs and open mouth kisses,
loves her furr sissy,
thinks water is the BEST
(hose drinks, splashing, stomping, bath time, pools)
loves to be outside,
loves reading her books,
and loves playdates with her neighbor friends.

Daycare is getting easier.

Last week,
she cried hysterically when I dropped her off
Today she was upset, but shed no tears.

She is starting to interact more,
with the other children.
She is shy at first but warms up quickly
(like both her mommy and daddy).

She still loves her sleep.

She says a lot of words
and is beginning to put words together.

She says:
"hi"
"bye"
"sissy"
"daddy"
"mama"
"more"
"all done"
"nana"
"papa"
"nigh night"

Last week,
Matt was leaving her room
and she said, "bye dad"!

She does "so big" by raising her arms
and when asked, "where's Sara?",
she points to the mirror.

She loves to wave at everything and everyone.
Especially at cars driving past our house.

Such a smart girl!

She is a good eater and tries everything.
Her favorite is her mommy's banana pancakes.

Stepping Stones

Today is Sara's first day at Stepping Stones!
a.k.a BIG girl school.

I've never had to wake Sara up in the morning.
In the past, I would let her sleep in
and bring her to Kandi's after she woke up.
I don't think she appreciated my wake-up call today.

After singing her a few cheery songs
and reminding her about her BIG day,
she was all smiles.

She babbled all the way to daycare.

When we arrived,
she was excited and pointing at everything.
She likes to point and wave.

Only 2 of the 10 kids were there when we arrived.
Sara clung tightly to my finger until she saw the toys.
She walked over to play and never looked back.

I know I overstayed my welcome,
but I really enjoyed watching Sara play.

She will need to put this boy in his place.
He kept stealing her toy and putting frogs in her hair.

Boys are trouble.

I tried to leave once but I ended up
stalking her through the window.

The ladies in her room encouraged me
to call as often as I pleased.

So I did.

As of noon, Sara has had a great morning.
She has only cried when others in the room were crying.

She played outside this morning
and will be doing arts and crafts this afternoon.

So far, big girl school seems to be
much harder on Mommy
than it is on Sara Mae.

Big Girl School

This is Sara's last full week with Kandi.

I am happy for her
because she's really beginning to enjoy
the company of babies her own age.

I'm thankful Sara had this year
with Mike, Kandi, and Mason.
It was exactly what she needed
and what I needed too.

Sara loves them
and I know we will continue
to be involved in each other's lives
forever.

It's a bird.

It's a plane?

It's MASON!

Play Date

Sara has been spending time
with her new friend Gunnar.

They play really well together,
which is great,
because their parents enjoy each other too!

First Concert

We took Sara to her first outdoor concert.
G. Love and Special Sauce played during Tuckfest

It was a warm day (in the 80's)
We brought...
sunscreen
ice cubes
munchies
summer dress
sun hat
and the Booth family!

Sara & Mommy took some pre-concert selfies.

Sara beat the heat by sucking on ice cubes
and drinking a lot of water!

She got a little boost from daddy
so she could see G. Love

She munched,
and munched,
and munched.
Until we ran out of food!

Then she flirted with Gunnar
until he gave her some of his nummies.

Her first time eating potato chips
and cookies!

Daddy kept me cool by dunking my toes in the water.

Thank you Derek, Mandy, and Gunnar
for joining us!

Warm Day Fun

Give this girl a bucket of water
and she is occupied for hours.
