Trick or Treat

This year,
Sara was a beautiful little Minnie Mouse.
She was so excited to wear Minnie's dress.

She went down for a nap
so Minnie could give her magical powers
to turn her into Minnie for the evening.
(Good thinking to get her to actually nap - daddy).

Sara first wore her costume
the day before Halloween
at Stepping Stone's for truck or treat.

She got to truck or treat
with Gunnar and Dallas
(the ninja turtles).

Checking out her treats
on the drive home.

On Friday evening,
Mr. Mason had a spooky bash.
He had yummy foods,
fun decorations,
and a game that involved eating a donut
off a string with no hands.
(Very funny to watch).

On Halloween,
Mama made a quick costume for Anna.
I wanted to be able to wear her in the Ergo
while we trick or treated with Sara.

Ta-da!  Popcorn!
The costume was a hit.
Cheap & easy to construct too.

She smelled like yummy popcorn all night.
Extra bonus for mama.

So many changes in two years.

Sara trick or treated Wheatfield
with Mr. Mason.

It was so neat to see
her actually keep up with him.

In the evening,
we went to another party
at Cory & Ann Marie's house.

Daddy was dressed as Mr. Derek
when Mr. Derek was 12 years old.

Mr. Derek loved it.

At the end of the night,
I took Anna out of the Ergo
and she laid on the floor
"stuck" in the Ergo position
for at least five minutes.

Overall, we decided 2.5y+ is the best age
for Halloween.
Sara did much better than last year
and had an absolute blast.

Pumpkin Patch

We have our pumpkins!

We went to the pumpkin patch
with the Booth family.

Sara & Gunnar had a good time
running through the patch.
Gunnar was upset he couldn't lift them.
Sara watched in amusement.

Now to pick out our carving patterns...

Stay tuned!

Trick or Treat

Sara had a sleepy first Halloween.

She wore her ladybug costume
long enough to get in FaceTime with
Grandma Cindy and Auntie Tasha & Miss Ella.

After her 5pm bottle,
she went down for a nap.
Mommy finally woke her up at 10pm
for her night time bottle.

She missed all the trick or treaters.

Lucy had a terrible Halloween.
It's her least favorite day of the year.

Constant doorbell ringing
and silly costumes
make Lucy very miserable.

Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkin carving and roasted pumpkin seeds

Mmm Mmm Mmm.

I accidentally burnt the seeds this year

but the jack-o-lanterns turned out fine!

It's weird to carve pumpkins while wearing t-shirts.

I'm still adjusting to this mild climate.

Mommy's owl
Daddy's scary scream face

Sara's first jack-o-lantern

Mommy carved Sara's pumpkin.

It was first going to be a ghost - oops.

Then it was going to be the Wisconsin logo - oops.

Finally, the jack-o-lantern was a success.

Mommy isn't very good at carving pumpkins.
