Family Hike

We had a beautiful Sunday
and drove to Stone Mountain
to hike with the girls.

Sara was in the backpack on daddy.
Anna was in the ergo with mommy.

We already knew Sara loves to ride
in daddy's backpack.

At the top of the mountain,
she gets cookies & water.
She loves it.

Anna did great in the ergo.
It was her first big hike in it.

She alternated between
peeked out to watch the trees
and snoozing.

We took a new route back to the car.
It was a long a creek
and very beautiful.

The last little section
after about four miles
was a huge stairway along a waterfall.
Mom & Dad got a great workout!

Stone Mountain

We took a Saturday drive
and found a hidden gem in the mountains.

 Stone Mountain has waterfall slides,
hiking trails, and pretty butterflies.

We're looking forward to returning
once Sara is big enough to try the waterslides.

Grass

We had a break from the rain

and took advantage of it

by laying out in the grass.

This is also when I realized

Miss Sara has Matt's toes.

Our Birdies

We were hosts to a nest

of birdies - we assume are sparrows.

I must have a lot of mommy hormones

because I felt very protective over these birds.

I even brought them in the house during bad storms

(Something their real mommy-bird didn't like at all.)

This is where the mama bird built her nest and laid her eggs.

The eggs (we ended up with four total).

They've hatched!

This is a video I took during a bad storm.

I moved the plant inside and

the mama bird was not happy with me.

They're growing!
(Although not very cute yet).

They're looking more like sparrows ready to leave the nest.

Golf in January

One of the many reasons I love North Carolina.

After almost passing out in church that morning
(The third trimester sure is grand.)
I decided swinging a club wasn't in my best interests.

Instead, I was Matt's designated cart driver.
