Shower Pictures

Here are some pictures from the shower last week.

We had ice cream sundaes with all the yummy toppings!

Opening presents

We had one game that consisted of pictures blown up
of Tasha and Jami.
Everyone had to cut and paste parts (eyes, nose, mouth, etc)
and combine them together to see
what Jami & Tasha's baby will look like.

It was so much fun to watch
coworkers get into such an artsy-craftsy project!

The results were a little creepy.

Baby Shower

Today my coworkers and I are hosting
a baby shower for Tasha Rothstein.
I was in charge of decor & group gifts.

I made a diaper cake for our
friend Kim and the tradition
continued with my friend Sadie.
Here is Tasha's cake.

Simple & sweet.  I was able to
use my cake stand for the first time!
I'm excited for Tasha to open
all her baby gifts!
I'm even more excited for
baby girl to arrive!!!

Congrats Tasha & Jami!

Must Love Pink

Last Thursday was my friend Emily's bachelorette party.
I met Emily through her boyfriend (now husband), Chris.
Chris was Matt's roommate in Eagan after we first started dating.
He went to chef school and taught Matt how to cook.
Chris is one of the nicest guys I know.
I was thrilled when he found Emily.
You could tell they were a perfect match from the start.

Fast forward three(?) years and we are celebrating
her last night as a single lady.
Her step-mother-to-be put on an AMAZING
bachelortte party!

We met at the Marriot downtown Mpls for
drinks, appetizers, cake, and gifts.  We were all dressed in PINK
(because pink is fun.)
From there, we hopped in a white limo
and found gift bags full of MORE FUN.

Pink feather boas
Pink glow necklaces, bracelets, cups,
and plenty of champagne to go around.

The limo took us to the starting point of the PedalPub.

We took a route through North Minneapolis.
We took seats (bike seats) on the outskirts of the pub/bike
and in the middle was our navigator (from the company)
and someone to bartend (from our party).

The pub was tougher to pedal than I thought it would be.
It was a surprise workout - to work off those alcohol calories.
We pedaled around to different bars.

We had some tag-a-longs.

I asked them if they would go home after I took their picture.
To my surprise, they agreed.

We stopped at many bars.
Which bars, you ask?
I can't remember.

I know we stopped at Gastoff's (hence the boots)

This little lady is Chris's (the groom's) mother.  Love her.

The limo was waiting for us at the end of our route
to take us to the Shout House
where we would meet up with the guys.

I haven't much memory of the Shout House,
so I'll leave you with some pictures to tell
the rest of the story.

Minnesota Reception

We had a beautiful
wedding reception in Litchfield, MN
on August 20th at Peter's on Lake Ripley.

I had Thursday and Friday off from work the week prior.
Lucy had a dental cleaning in Litchfield on Thursday.
Friday was a day for relaxation.

The dental cleaning went well and Lucy
was back to her old self later that evening.
On Friday, Tiff & Kate drove out to
Lake Minnebelle for our day of relaxing.
We ate lunch and stocked the cooler full of beer
to bring down to the dock.
We floated on the lake and had some great girl talk.
The weather was beautiful!

On Friday, we went to Peter's to decorate.
After decorating, we had some time to
relax on the lake before the night's festivities.
I was really worried about my wedding dress fitting.
It was snug in Washington and I had gained
five pounds on the honeymoon.
It fit... but was uncomfortable.
Luckily, I had a fancy dress to change into before dinner.

Before arriving at Peter's, we stopped at Kicker's for some refreshments.
A shot of tequila, a chuck norris, and a beer.
It was the perfect start to the night.

Once at Peter's, Matt & I stood in the entry way to greet everyone.
That was one of my favorite parts of the night.
We got to talk to each and every person
that came to our reception.
They also got to see me in my wedding dress.

Once dinner started, I changed into my comfy dress.  Whew...
The food was FANTASTIC.  The dance started after dinner
and I had a blast dancing with all of our friends and family.
The night went by so fast.
I am excited to see everyone's pictures!

Here are a few I've received thus far...

Warrior Dash Deux

I know...
I know...

I promised you all recently
that I would NEVER
sign up for the Warrior Dash
ever again.

Remember... all the pain and agony
in THIS blog?

Well, I received an email today
about Warrior Dash 2012.
And some crazy
inside voice
of mine said
DO IT AGAIN!

So I am.
Though this time
I will actual train for it.

Now you should do it too!

Magic Words

Guess who said
the MAGIC words
to Lucy
last weekend...

"Boat ride...?"

Once those words were spoken
there was no going back.
That person must
give Lucy a boat ride.

Who said the words........?

Warrior Dash

Last spring
Matt & I signed up for
the Warrior Dash.

We figured it would be
a good thing to motivate
us to stay in shape
after the wedding.

I don't know what I was expecting...
but the race we ran on July 24 was NOT it.

Let me start off by saying
I only ran one time on our honeymoon.
We were in Vacaville at a Comfort Inn.
I found the exercise room and ran
exactly 1 mile
before I was out of breath.

This race was 3 miles long.  The first half was uphill.
A STEEP uphill (up a ski hill).
I ran walked with my hands on my knees.
After the hills, I was completely defeated.
Then the obstacles being.

First, we climbed over four junked cars and a bunch of car tires.
Next was the typhoon (two or four snow making machines blowing water directly at you).
My contacts went up into my brain and had to be fished out.
There were crossed rope obstacles (both horizontal & vertical).
A tarp covered building we had to crawl through (pitch black).
The worst for me was a wooden wall you had to climb
up and over.
With only the use of your arms and a rope.  It was 25-30 ft tall.
I ran up to it and thought "no way am I going to be able to do this".
I did it.
Not sure how.

There were other obstacles that I have since blocked from my memory.
Too painful.

At the end, there was a waterslide, two piles of duralogs (fire) to jump over,
and a deep mud pit with barbed wire to crawl through.

The spectators only saw the water slide, fire, and mud pit.
I heard many "this looks like so much fun" and "we need to do this next year".
What they didn't see was the rest of the course.
All the uphill.

All my friends that have done it want to do it again next year.
By next year, I will have possibly forgotten the pain and agony
and do it again.

Doubtful.

Maybe I should actually train for it....?

Enjoy the pictures...

I am crying on the inside.

My face says it all.

Again, look at my expression.  I am not impressed.

A true warrior indeed

Focused

Oh no... my contacts are muddy.

Why did I drive into the mud?  I can't see a thing.

Please Lord, let me clear this fire with my already burning legs.

Yay - let's go HOME!
