22 Months - Sara Mae

I can hardly keep up
with these monthly posts.

Time is flying!

Sara is talking in full sentences
and repeating everything.

Her latest word...

"hippopotamus"

Sara enjoys singing and music.

Her favorite songs include:

"Let it Go" - Frozen
The Sesame Street theme song
Hallelujah
Row, Row, Row your Boat
Wheels on the Bus
If You're Happy and you Know It

I think Sara will be a tomboy
like her mommy.
(I owe my mom an overdue apology.)

When I buy her a new dress
and ask her to try it on
her reply is always,

"No dress!  No dress!"

It took some fierce bribery
to get these pictures:

The smile was only because
I put "Let it Go" on the TV.
(my most effective bribe)

Sara is going to have a baby sister!

Daddy is outnumbered.

I always wanted a sister of my own
and I'm thrilled that Sara will have one.

I hope they love each other
and grow up to be best of friends.

19 weeks - Ultrasound

Our anatomy scan for baby 2
was this morning.

Baby is completely healthy
and there were no issues.

I am feeling so happy
and blessed
to have been given two healthy babies!

Baby was very active.
Lots of kicks and movement.
Yawning too.

We decided to do things a little differently.

We asked the tech to put the gender
in an envelope for us.

I brought the gender results
to Party America
where they filled a box
with balloons.

The plan is to have Sara
open the box tonight.

Stay tuned...

17 Weeks - Baby 2

I am 17 weeks!

This pregnancy has been trying.

I'm trying to enjoy it
just in case it's my last.

I am much more exhausted,
emotional, and sick this time.

The baby was very active last night.
I can feel a lot of movement
and even Matt felt pulses from the outside!

I have my anatomy scan on January 12th.
I'm looking forward to it
and praying everything measures well.

We won't find out the gender.
It's so tempting...
but nothing can compare to
Matt introducing me to our child
in the delivery room.

21 Months - Sara Mae

At 21 months,
Sara surprises us daily
with what she knows
and how smart and sweet she is.

She can sing a lot
of the ABC's.

She also can sing
and knows the actions to
"Wheels on the Bus"
"Black Sheep, Black Sheep"
"If You're Happy and You Know It"
"Row, Row, Row Your Boat"
and I'm sure many more I don't even realize.

She can use full sentences
in some circumstances.

She is funny
and enjoys making us laugh.

She loves to dance
and can't get enough of the song
"Let it Go" from Frozen.
She can listen to it over...
and over...
and over...

We were driving to school
and I had "Hallelujah"
by Jeff Buckley
on the radio.

After the song was over
I heard Sara in the back seat
saying "Hallelujah"
over and over.

She really enjoys that song.

She likes to play outside
and can use the steps
to her playhouse
all by herself!

She also enjoys helping mom
pick up sticks in the yard.

She echos me when I give
commands to Lucy.
"Lucy out!"
"C'mon Lucy"
"Go to Lucy's Bed!"

Sara is an absolute joy.
It's wonderful watching her grow and learn.

Best of Friends

These kids have such a blast together.

I could watch them play together all day.
